F.A.Q.

Being a CLRSS Member

  1. Why should I become a member of CLRSS?
This is your way to show that you care about a healthy watershed. You are literally “speaking up” for the plants and animals that rely on a healthy watershed for their survival.

This is your way to show your support for the volunteer work of others, who since 2012, have succeeded in raising the profile of our lake and heritage river and the importance of treating it with respect.

This is your way to be a robust voice for our watershed, giving your society “weight” when dealing with other partners in the community.
This is your way to guide the society so that the CLRSS reflects the interests and concerns of the community.

This is your chance to enable us to achieve the society's goals (over 2,000 hours contributed last year).

Your annual membership goes entirely to the legacy projects and ongoing work of the society.

  2. How much is my membership and how long does it last?
The annual membership fee is $10.00, and it lasts from April 1 to March 31, each year. You will be contacted when it is time to renew your membership.

  3. What is an Honorary Lifetime Membership in CLRSS?
From time-to-time individual members are recognized for their outstanding contributions to CLRSS and are presented with an honorary lifetime membership.

  4. What happens at the Annual General Meeting?
Every society in BC is required by law to hold an annual meeting of all the members. At that time the membership is informed about all the work completed by the society in that year. The financial statement is shared, and the Board of Directors is elected. CLRSS has 11 board members, including a president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary. Any person who has been a member for 30 days, may stand for election to any position on the board.
